AJ Art Club: Children’s Art Classes in Barton-le-Clay

Weekly, in-person art sessions for ages 6+ at Barton-le-Clay Village Hall. Friendly, inclusive, confidence-building.

About AJ Art Club

AJ Art Club is a friendly, inclusive art club for young artists in Barton le Clay and the surrounding area. We believe every child can enjoy making art; enthusiasm matters far more than “talent”. Our sessions are designed to help children feel confident, curious, and proud of what they create.

Our approach

We keep things supportive and encouraging, while still teaching real skills. Each session gives children the chance to explore different materials and techniques, learn how to develop ideas, and build their own creative style. There’s no pressure to be perfect; we focus on progress, experimentation, and enjoying the process.

What we offer

AJ Art Club runs weekly, in-person classes for children, with each session lasting two hours. We also plan to introduce additional workshops, giving young artists the chance to dive deeper into specific themes and projects.

A place to belong

Whether your child is always drawing at home or just starting to explore creativity, AJ Art Club is a place where they’ll be welcomed, supported, and celebrated. We’re proud to be building a positive creative community for young artists locally.

At AJ Art Club, we run friendly, weekly art classes for children aged 6+ at Barton-le-Clay Village Hall. If your child loves drawing, painting, making, or simply has a big imagination, they’ll fit right in.

A lot of parents tell us the same thing: “My child loves art, but they’re not sure they’re ‘good enough’.” We get it. AJ Art Club is built around confidence, belonging, and enjoyment — not perfection. We celebrate enthusiasm more than “talent”, and we help every child feel proud of what they create.

A warm, pressure-free space to create

AJ Art Club was created by Milly Bdham, an artist and experienced teacher who knows how powerful a supportive environment can be. Our sessions are designed to be encouraging and inclusive, so children can experiment, learn new skills, and develop their own style without fear of getting it “wrong”.

Whether your child is full of ideas or a little shy to start, we guide them step-by-step and make sure they feel comfortable. Art should be something children look forward to — a place to relax, express themselves, and build confidence.

What happens in a weekly session?

Each week, children enjoy a 2-hour in-person class packed with creativity. Sessions typically include:

A welcoming start and simple warm-up to get ideas flowing

A guided project using a range of materials and techniques

Time for personal choices and creative twists (so every piece feels like theirs)

Friendly support throughout, with gentle tips to build skills

We focus on progress over perfection. Children learn by doing — and by trying things they haven’t tried before.

Who is AJ Art Club for?

AJ Art Club is ideal for:

Children aged 6+ who enjoy art and making things

Kids who want to build confidence and try new techniques

Young artists who would love a regular creative club

Children who feel unsure about art and need a kinder, more encouraging approach

No previous experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
